Doukyusei (2016)

On this cozy winter evening with snowfall outside my window, I thought of watching some romantic comedy anime and I was recommended one. So, I got myself a hot cup of chocolate and snuggled into a blanket. I was recommended this 2016 released movie but wasn’t told about its premise, plot or genre. So, I started watching it and soon I was drawn into a world of a genre of ‘yaoi’. After I was done with the movie, I asked my Google sensei about the meaning of the term yaoi. Apparently, it means boys’ love. Looking at the movie it became very obvious from the beginning itself. Continue reading Doukyusei (2016)

Recovery of an MMO Junkie (2017): Simply delightful.

I am so glad that this anime series has ended. Not because it was disappointing or anything close to that, but it was a short sweet delight about which I wanted to write. Now after 10 delightful episodes when the series has ended, here are my opinions for the series. Continue reading Recovery of an MMO Junkie (2017): Simply delightful.

Your Lie in April (2014-2015): Unrequited love…

Although I have kept this piece under the category of ‘Review,’ I won’t strictly say that it is. It is my comments about an anime that is different from regular Shonen anime. There are no fights, actions or other elements placed strategically to make you interested in it. This anime is a simple romance comedy wrapped with bitter tragedies. Even before starting the series I had a faint idea of where it might take me, but I decided to watch it anyways. The only mistake I did was that I did not make sure that if I have enough tissue paper for my tears. Continue reading Your Lie in April (2014-2015): Unrequited love…

No Game No Life (2014-): Worthy isekai anime?

Isekai is a genre that is being blatantly exploited by both light novel authors and anime creators from recent past to the present. I guess ‘No Game No Life’ jumped on the isekai bandwagon at very opportune time. I am not sure whether it was its success that lead to the creation of other popular anime namely, ‘Konosuba’, ‘Re:Zero’, ‘Devil Is a Part-Timer!’, ‘In Another World With My Smartphone’ and more. I have watched some of these anime and I have thoroughly enjoyed the implementation. Probably with a lucrative storyline, viewers can be enticed in the anime series without any complaint. The later success of ‘Konosuba’ and ‘Re:Zero’ are suitable examples of the same. Continue reading No Game No Life (2014-): Worthy isekai anime?

Himouto! Umaru-chan (2015-) : Kawaii Himouto?

Kawaii characters are apple of everyone’s eye who enjoy some entertaining comedy about characters. As the title suggests, it’s something about ‘worthless lazy-bum sister’ (“Himouto”). It reminds me of an anime with similar character, ‘Gabriel dropout.’ Both are about characters that lack so much self-motivation such that they are only willing to do anything only if they find their interest somewhere.
